I refer to the article “48700 HDB flats owned by PRs as of Sept” (see HERE).
This means that about five per cent of the total number of HDB flats, excluding HDB rental flats, are owned by permanent residents (PRs).
How many of the average of about 13,000 new citizens yearly over the last 10 years, bought HDB flats as PRs before they became new citizens? (see HERE)
In this connection, how many of the total number of HDB flats approved for subletting – 39,100 units in the 3rd Quarter 2011, are rented by PRs or foreigners?
If we add the total of the above three statistics, how many flats in total are actually occupied by PRs or former PRs?
To what extent did the demand from PRs result in the relentless rise in HDB prices, and the market supply and demand imbalance?
How many Singaporeans are being deprived of a HDB home or an affordable HDB home, due to PRs?
If our public housing policy does not allow PRs to own HDB flats, like most other countries, what would be the implications for Singaporeans and public housing in Singapore?
