“Local” engineers become “S’poreans”?

6 in 10 engineers are S’poreans?

I refer to the article “6 in 10 engineers hired are Singaporeans: MOM” (Channel NewsAsia, Apr 5).

It states that “There were 122,500 people employed as engineers as of June 2015, of which six in 10 were locals”.

“Locals” become “S’poreans”?

How come “locals” in the quoted Parliamentary reply can become “Singaporeans” in the title of the subject news report?

Why not disclose the statistics for all sectors instead of on a piecemeal basis?

How many S’poreans?

How many of the “locals” are Singaporeans?

In this connection, an estimated 550,000 new PRs and citizens were granted from 2007 to 2015.

How many engineers are unemployed?

Reciprocate trust with transparency?

Since the people have given their trust and mandate – shouldn’t we reciprocate by being more transparent?
