Spring Singapore promise 21,000 jobs

I refer to the article “Spring Singapore funds projects that promise 21,400 jobs” (Straits Times, Jan 26).

It states that “When fully realised, these projects are expected to crank out 21,400 new skilled jobs and contribute $7.8 billion in value-add to the economy.

15,000 jobs created in 2015

This is a significant jump from the 15,000 jobs created from Spring-funded projects in 2015, which had a projected value-add of $6.9 billion.”

49,000 foreigners job growth vs 500 locals?

In this connection, for the last 18 months to June 2016 – employment growth was 49,000 foreigners against only 500 locals.

How many of the 500 jobs to Singaporeans?

How many of the 500 locals’ jobs were Singaporeans, and not permanent residents (PRs)?

How many of the 15,000 jobs to Singaporeans?

So, how many of the “15,000 jobs created from Spring-funded projects in 2015” went to Singaporeans?

Full-time employment dropped fro 75.3% (2007) to 56.0%?

According to the latest Polytechnics’ Graduate Employment Survey – compared to the full-time permanent employment rate of 75.3 per cent in 2007, 2010’s 68.5 and 2013’s 62.7 per cent – it has been declining almost yearly from 75.3 per cent in 2007 to 56.0 per cent now.
