We will summarise briefly the statistics as follows:-
Accumulated MediShield Reserves grew from $205 to $530 million, from 2008 to 2010, an increase of 158%.
MediShield Premiums collected was $302, $372 and $386 million, against Claims paid out of $161, $215 and $249 million, for 2008, 2009 and 2010, respectively.
The MLR (Loss Ratio) was 53, 58 and 65%, respectively.
After including Administrative costs (as % of Premiums), the Profit (conventional, excluding interest earned) was $133, $148 and $124 million, respectively.
The Percentage Profit (conventional, %) was 44, 40 and 32%, respectively.
The MediShield Fund’s Total Assets (before Total Liabilities) was $1.2, $1.4 and $1.6 billion, respectively.
This is an increase of 39% for the two years, from 2008 to 2010.
Total Liabilities was $943, $860 and $1,062 million, respectively.
