In conjunction with the 30th anniversary of Operation Spectrum – Function 8 is organising an event, “Debunking a 30-year-old Conspiracy” on 21 May, 2 to 6 pm, at The Projector:

Being the amateur statistician that I am – I asked if there were any statistics on the sum total period of detention of all the 22 professionals (Operation Spectrum), workers from the Catholic Church and students who were detained without trial under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Lo and behold – they sent me the following link containing information on the more than 1,300 detainees detained under the ISA in Singapore’s history:

I was told that it was “compiled initially by Loh Miao Ping (she was an elected MP who never got to take her seat as she was arrested before she took her seat). Unfortunately the information is still incomplete as it is still work in progress”.

Does anyone know where one can get the official statistics on the ISA detainees?
