MR LEONG Sze Hian (‘Worry over casino gambling statistics’; Tuesday) suggested that recipients of long-term ComCare assistance be barred from the casinos.

Under the third-party casino exclusion orders by the National Council on Problem Gambling, recipients of long-term ComCare financial assistance have been barred from entering the casinos since their opening.

We will continue to strengthen the social safeguards for problem gambling as necessary.
