Is the Singapore government speaking the same language as Singaporeans?
Of course, we speak English, but are we having the same vocabulary?
Drums?
When we tried seeking alternative views by reading the alternative media since our main stream media is ranked 149th, the government said that the alternative media is spreading DRUMS.
Why is our government always criticizing and spreading propaganda through the main stream media, from alleging against the opposition regarding the cleanliness of hawker centre’s ceiling to accusing an individual having closed her Facebook when one did not?
Ponding?
Singapore experienced FLOODING that was up to half a meter deep at Tanjong Pagar GRC yet the government calls it PONDING?
Was it a once in 50-years event?
Or many in one year?
Statutory boards with more than enough funds to threaten to sue a student will definitely have sufficient funds to improve lives of Singaporeans and prevent such “ponding” right?
Sleepers?
It was being reported that the number of HOMELESS on the street is increasing, yet a MP calls them SLEEPERS?
Earlier this year, it was being reported that an elderly was collecting old newspapers dangerously on the road, people question why can’t elderly get back their CPF to retire in Singapore?
Nonetheless, it was later explained by the main stream media that the elderly is being environmental friendly and we should encourage the act of collecting newspapers to recycle.
The number of CORRUPTION cases has increased from monetary benefit to sexual benefits. Yet the government later said that such MISCONDUCT is present in 1 out of 5 cases.
Isn’t that 20% corruption?
Review means Increase?
Whenever the government said that they are going to be REVIEWING PRICES in order to benefit the lives of Singaporeans, the next thing that we know is the INCREASING PRICES.
For the latest bus fare review that the transport minister is talking about that will happen soon, is it a review or increase?
Public surveys?
The government has been giving statistics THROUGH PUBLIC SURVEYS regarding how Singaporeans feel about their lives, what is the sample size? Where was the survey being taken? Were those surveys being taken at one location? The latest transport surveys for example, is the government telling us WHAT GOVERNMENT WANTS instead? If people are moving in then what’s the need for those posters? Do we see more people moving in and giving up seats or do we see more arguments between locals and foreigners in public transport?
The “right” things?
We were being told by ministers that we should read THE “RIGHT” THING, were they referring to THEIR MEDIA or to facts?
Why does the government criticize people for saying that services are not up to standard or that HDB is not public housing but government earning profit from Singaporeans?
Why don’t the government show us the cost of building HDB?
Minimum salary?
Whenever the government talks about their COMPETITIVE MINISTERIAL SALARY, are they referring to wanting MILLION DOLLAR SALARY?
If there’s no minimum wage, why are ministers given a minimum salary?
Do they have a heart for the people and see the hardships that Singaporeans are going through or do they only have eyes for pay?
