HDB 1 & 2-room increase from 45,600 to 68,800?

I refer to the Department of Statistics’ Population Trends 2016 report released on 27 September 2016.

Increase in 1 & 2-room households?

The number of HDB 1 and 2-room resident households has increased gradually from 45,600 in 2000 to 68,800 in 2016.

Increase in percentage of 1 & 2-room households?

HDB 1 and 2-room resident households as a percentage of total HDB households has also increased from 5.7 per cent (45,600 divided by 805,000) in 2000 to 7 per cent (68,800 divided by 981,100) in 2016.

These numbers indicate … ?
