The No. of PRs in the population, seems to be declining, from
541,000 in 2010 to
521,000 in 2020 to
488,700 in 2021 to
519,500 in 2022

However, the No. of PRs in the workforce, as a % of the PRs population, has been increasing as follows:-
79.7% 2022 (413,810 PRs in workforce)
68.4% 2021 (334,375)
70.2% 2020 (365,605)
59.3% 2010 (321,017)
(estimates, computed from the unemployment rates & No. of unemployed Residents & Citizens)

(Note: The above 4 years, are the only 4 years, since 2010, that are given in the report)
What do the above statistics mean?
Could it possibly be that over the last 12 years or so – there was an increasing trend of most of the new PRs granted, or who stayed on in Singapore, were workers in the workforce, rather than dependents?
Also, although it may seem that the PRs population has been declining – the number of PRs who may arguably, be competing with S’poreans for jobs, may have been increasing
